Norway

Norway is as vital to our organisation as we are to them. The country plays a critical role in promoting and advancing our Marine business, while Rolls-Royce represents a significant portion of Norway’s industry and is one of the largest companies in terms of supplying ship design, equipment and systems integration.

Our business in Norway is spread along the coast. We have 16 locations, each of which ranges from 15 to 600 employees. In Ulsteinvik, Marine Services is building a one-stop-shop that will satisfy much of Europe’s need for servicing vessels and equipment.

We also have a global marine training centre located in Ålesund, which provides equipment and systems training services to a large number of customers and sub-providers. It also plays host to a substantial number of our employees in the region , creating an important centre for knowledge and expertise within the industry.

The Rolls-Royce business in Norway was awarded the Next Generation Ship Award for 2011 for our fuel- and cost-effective designs. We also provided design, equipment and integrated systems for the Ship of the Year in 2009, the Far Samson.
