Rolls-Royce has been in business in the UK for over a hundred years. In that time we have built a reputation for technical innovation and excellence on land, at sea and in the air.
Rolls-Royce's corporate headquarters are situated in London. In addition to our manufacturing facilities, we are also investing in a range of infrastructure projects around the country from repair and overhaul facilities to the Learning and Development centre in Derby.

Civil Aerospace
- There are currently more than 500 RB211 & Trent engines in-service with UK based operators.
- Our largest UK based customer is British Airways who operate more than 90 Rolls-Royce powered aircraft.
- Two-thirds of all long-haul departures from London Heathrow are powered by Rolls-Royce engines.
Defence Aerospace
- Rolls-Royce has provided power to the UK MoD since the introduction of the Eagle engine in 1915, during WWI.
- We have over 1600* engines in service in the UK and power 80 per cent* of the UK Ministry of Defence’s aircraft fleet.
- We have pioneered partnered support in the UK and signed the first guaranteed availability contract with the UK MoD in 2005

Marine
- In the UK, the Marine business supplies mission critical products, systems and support services to customers throughout the maritime sector.
- Our UK manufacturing base includes marine gas turbines, motion control equipment and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Rolls-Royce equipment is installed on most of the UK Royal Navy ships, including the new Type 45 destroyers.
Energy
- Rolls-Royce provides complete package solutions to the oil and gas, power generation, storage and gas transportation markets across the UK Energy industry.
- Installed fleet of 200 units, comprising 130 offshore units and 70 onshore units, with 90 per cent under managed overhauls service or long term service agreements.
- Our installed products range from 2 - 63MW gas turbine package solutions to various individual strategic and fleet pipeline compressors and generator solutions.
- Our bespoke solutions serve the traditional UK markets supporting oil and gas majors (including Shell, BP, Total, ConocoPhillips, Apache, Perenco) in North Sea production and exploration roles of oil and gas, as well as to operators and EPCs for their global projects.
- We also support the power generation markets and UK electricity grid customers (including EON, Centrica, National Power, Power Gen, Gas DE France and Transco) and have a fleet of 7 Trent units operated by Rolls-Royce powering the UK electricity grid.
Nuclear
- Rolls-Royce has nuclear instrumentation and control systems installed in over 200 reactors across 20 countries.
- Rolls-Royce provides reactor inspection services to 70% of all pressurised water reactors in the US.
- Rolls-Royce has manufactured 27 reactors and almost 100 reactors cores for the UK submarine programme.
