Rolls-Royce honours US naval aviation on its 100th birthday

Close air support for France’s transport fleet is a team effort between industry and the air force.

The Baltic States of Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia joined NATO in 2004 and since then NATO members have taken it in turns to ensure air sovereignty is maintained across the Baltic region.

With operational commitments that range from the Gulf to the South Atlantic, the C-130J transport aircraft of the RAF are versatile workhorses.

Change is the name of the decidedly serious game at the headquarters of Germany’s Army Aircorps Weapons System School at Bückeburg, some 80km west of Hanover. It is shaping the entire future of Germany’s military helicopter capability.

It started life as a long-range business jet but the aircraft platform has been transformed. It’s still sophisticated but the emphasis is on technology, not style, for this is the RAF’s most advanced long-range airborne surveillance system.
