DSME has developed into one of the world’s premier specialised shipbuilding and offshore contractors, building all types of commercial ships, offshore platforms, drilling rigs, floating oil production units, submarines and destroyers. The company was established in 1973 at Okpo Bay, Geoje Island, on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula.

DSME specifies a mix of Rolls-Royce equipment that includes deck machinery, steering gear and controllable-pitch propellers.
