Fixed Pitch Propellers

Fixed pitch propellers (FPPs) from Rolls-Royce are individually designed for each vessel to give optimum propeller efficiency, lowest possible vibration and noise levels and no harmful cavitations.

These propellers are manufactured in manganese bronze, nickel aluminium bronze and stainless steel.

Typical applications

  • Container vessels
  • Tankers
  • Bargo vessels
  • Bulk carriers
  • Aircraft carriers

In the US we have our own foundry capable of producing propellers to exacting US Navy MIL spec standards and up to 10m in diameter.

Kamewa-SKF propeller sleeve

The SKF propeller sleeve is a keyless high-grade steel sleeve with a cylindrical exterior and tapered interior. The outer surface is manufactured to provide precision fit into the cylindrical hole of the propeller hub.

The inside is manufactured to give a precision fit to the tapered part of the shaft.

This unique concept simplifies propeller removal and mounting eliminating match marking or gauges, providing better interchangeability and reducing the need for a spare propeller shaft.

Features

  • Conventional or high skew designs for both open and ducted applications
  • Supplied with shafting, stern tube, bearings, seals and nozzle
  • Propeller sleeve speeds up propeller changes
  • Available in manganese bronze, nickel aluminium bronze and stainless steel with excellent reparability

Rolls-Royce offers a complete FPP package

  • Monoblock propellers of moderate or high skew designs for open and nozzle applications.
  • Shafting with stern tube, bearings, seals and nozzles.
  • Shafting calculations including whirling and alignment.
  • Performance guarantees
